Adani Power secures approval to start Dhirauli mine operations

Power Generation Sep 03,2025

Adani Power has received approval from the Ministry of Coal to begin mining operations at the Dhirauli Mine in the Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh.

The mine, owned by a subsidiary of Adani Power, has a peak production capacity of 6.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

This development is a key step towards backward integration for Adani Power, ensuring a long-term, captive supply of coal for its nearby 1,200 MW Mahan Power plant and its merchant power requirements.

The mining lease is valid for 30 years and holds a gross geological reserve of 620 million tonnes.
