Agratas accelerates construction of Sanand battery plant in Gujarat

Agratas (Tata Group’s battery venture) has advanced structural works at its 320-acre Sanand battery facility, targeting an eventual 20 GWh annual nameplate capacity and integrated manufacturing systems.
The site development includes heavy civil works, supply-chain staging areas and early commissioning of utility corridors to speed up production ramp-up.
Agratas is coordinating with EPC partners and equipment suppliers to align module and cell lines with global quality standards, aiming to feed both EV and stationary-storage demand.
The plant will form a core part of India’s domestic battery ecosystem and reduce dependence on imports for critical battery components.
