BHEL invites bids for 800 MW super-critical thermal unit in Haryana
BHEL has invited bids for developing an 800 MW super-critical thermal power unit at the DCRTPP complex in Yamuna Nagar, signalling continued strategic investment in flexible base-load power.
The project supports India’s dual approach of integrating large-scale renewables with modernised, efficient thermal capacity for grid stability. Super-critical technology reduces emissions per unit of power and offers better efficiency than older plants.
The tender is expected to draw interest from EPC contractors, boiler-turbine-generator manufacturers and major engineering firms.
Stakeholders say the project may replace ageing units while ensuring reliable supply to northern grid regions.
