Cabinet approves Rs. 9,072 crore railway multitracking projects

The Union Cabinet has approved railway multitracking projects worth Rs. 9,072 crore to add 307 km of network capacity.

The projects aim to decongest high-traffic rail routes.

Officials stated that additional lines will improve freight and passenger movement efficiency.

The expansion will enhance operational flexibility on key corridors. Implementation will be undertaken by designated railway agencies.

Construction will proceed in phases following tender awards.
