Ceigall India becomes lowest bidder for Rs 1,700 crore Solar-BESS project
Ceigall India Ltd has emerged as the lowest bidder for a significant renewable energy project at the Morena Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.
The project, a 440 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) facility combined with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), was initiated by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd.
Ceigall India secured a 220 MW share of the project by quoting a competitive tariff of Rs 2.70 per kWh during the electronic reverse auction.
The total estimated value of the entire project is approximately Rs 1,700 crore.
The contract, which is a domestic one, specifies a 24-month construction period followed by a 25-year operational term.
This win positions Ceigall India as a key player in the burgeoning solar-plus-storage sector, which is vital for ensuring a stable and uninterrupted power supply as India increases its reliance on intermittent renewable energy sources.
This project is a crucial part of the nation's strategy to integrate large-scale renewable generation with robust storage solutions.
