Chennai Metro inks contract for construction of underground stations in Corridor 3
Chennai Metro Rail Limited and the Dineshchandra-Soma joint venture inked a contract for the construction of underground stations in Corridor 3. The deal is a component of Phase II funds provided by JICA.
On June 2, the Joint Venture received a letter of acceptance (LOA) valued at $1,063.37 crore (including the provisional sum and GST).
According to a press release, the scope of work includes work other than the diaphragm wall at two underground stations, Madhavaram Milk Colony and Murari Hospital (Madhavaram High Road Metro), as well as the construction of four underground stations at Moolakadai, Sembiyam, Perambur Market, and Perambur Metro Crossover at Sembiyam.
The 45.8 km corridor-3 links Madhavaram Milk Colony in North West Chennai to Old Mahabalipuram Road in Siruseri.
