Saint-Gobain India, a major player in sustainable construction materials, has officially begun construction of its 7th float glass line and 5th mineral wool insulation line at its facility in Oragadam, Chennai.
This marks a significant step in the company's Rs 3,400 crore investment commitment.
The new float glass line will boast a daily production capacity of 1,000 tonnes, while the mineral wool insulation line will be the largest of its kind for Saint-Gobain in the Asia Pacific region, with a capacity of 50,000 tonnes per year.
This strategic expansion aims to meet India's burgeoning demand for high-performance, energy-efficient building materials, and is expected to create over 1,100 direct and indirect jobs.
