HAL inks deal with Safran to manufacture jet engine parts in India
In order to advance the production of ring forgings for commercial engines, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Safran Aircraft Engines have formed an agreement.
HAL will produce engine forgings for the LEAP (Leading Edge Aviation Propulsion) engines under this Memorandum of Understanding. The LEAP engines power some of the most well-known aircraft in the world, such as the Boeing 737 Max and the Airbus A320 Neo family.
HAL's cutting-edge Foundry & Forge facility in Bengaluru is where this production is scheduled to take place.
The cooperative development of the "Shakti" helicopter engine is just one example of the many projects that HAL and Safran have historically worked on together, as highlighted by CB Ananthakrishnan, Chairman and Managing Director (Additional Charge) of HAL.
