Ingka Investments launches 210 MW solar project in India
Ingka Investments, the investment arm of the Ingka Group (operator of IKEA stores), has launched a 210 MW solar project in India—its first subsidy-free renewable venture in the country.
This move reinforces Ingka’s long-term commitment to sustainability and climate-positive operations.
The project will supply clean power directly to local grids, offsetting thousands of tonnes of CO₂ annually and supporting India’s renewable energy goals under the 500 GW target by 2030.
Ingka’s initiative reflects a growing trend among multinational corporations investing in green energy infrastructure to align their global operations with net-zero targets.
The project also contributes to India’s expanding ecosystem of large-scale solar installations, now one of the fastest-growing globally.
