Jindal Steel triples heat-treated plate capacity to 7 lakh tonnes annually
Jindal Steel & Power has expanded its heat-treated plate capacity threefold to 7 lakh tonnes per year, positioning itself to meet rising demand from sectors including oil & gas, defence, large infrastructure and heavy engineering.
Increased capacity was achieved through new furnaces and process optimisation, enabling the company to supply high-strength plates that adhere to stringent industry specifications.
Management said the expansion will reduce import dependency and enhance competitive positioning in value-added steel segments.
With higher throughput, the company expects improved sales momentum and deeper customer penetration.
Industry observers see this as a strategic move into higher-margin, speciality steel markets.
