K-Space identifies 180 acres for aerospace and defence projects
Kerala’s K-Space, the nodal agency for aerospace and defence manufacturing, has identified nearly 180 acres of land across three locations in Thiruvananthapuram district for upcoming industrial hubs.
The plan includes a 100-acre Integrated Defence Industrial Park (IDIP) at Kuttichal, a 60-acre Aerospace Control Systems Complex at Veli, and a 13-acre Liquid Propulsion System Complex at Valiyamala.
Additionally, a 3.5-acre site within Technopark Phase IV will house a Common Facility Centre and R&D hub, backed by Rs 241 crore in NABARD funding.
The initiative aims to leverage Kerala’s strong research base and proximity to premier institutions such as the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre and Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre. K-Space expects to generate around 6,700 jobs in the first phase of development.
