Kamarajar Port invites private participation to upgrade General Cargo Berth-1

Kamarajar Port has put out a private sector invitation to redevelop and upgrade its General Cargo Berth-1 to enhance mechanised cargo handling and operational efficiency.
The move is designed to attract investment for infrastructure modernisation, faster vessel turnaround and improved services for bulk and break-bulk cargo.
Port authorities expect that private participation under a PPP model will also help unlock new logistics and coastal shipping opportunities.
With growing cargo volumes in the region, the initiative is aimed at strengthening trade competitiveness.
Enhanced berth capacity is expected to stimulate new business from exporters and industrial users.
