Kaynes to invest Rs 2,850 crore in chip unit
Kaynes SemiCon chief executive Raghu Panicker said that the company is investing Rs 2,850 crore in a Hyderabad facility for outsourced semiconductor assembly and testing (OSAT), complete with automatic test equipment (ATE) and a reliability testing line.
Recently, a groundbreaking ceremony was performed for the facility, which will include 13 lines for OSAT and 1 line each for ATE and reliability testing. Additionally, Kaynes SemiCon plans to invest Rs 83.28 crore in a silicon photonics research and development centre in Mysuru for co-packaged optics.
Parent Kaynes Technology is also making an investment of Rs 750 crore in Mysuru for a bare board printed circuit board plant. Mysuru-based Kaynes Technology has a workforce of 3,500 people and annual revenue of Rs 1,665.71 crore, Panicker said.
