Lucknow Metro gets cabinet nod for Rs 5,801 crore phase-1B expansion
The Union Cabinet has approved the 11.16 km Phase-1B expansion of the Lucknow Metro Rail project at a total cost of Rs 5,801 crore.
The extension will connect Charbagh to Vasant Kunj via key city corridors, improving urban mobility and reducing traffic congestion.
The project will be financed through central and state government equity, external assistance from multilateral lenders, and local funding.
The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation expects the extension to significantly increase ridership, contribute to emissions reduction, and support the city’s sustainable transport agenda.
