Maharashtra Cabinet clears Rs 2,528 crore freight corridor linking Vadhavan Port
The Maharashtra Cabinet has given its approval for a Rs 2,528 crore freight corridor that will connect the upcoming Vadhavan Port in Palghar district with the Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway.
The 105 km high-speed corridor will be built by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) and is expected to be completed in three years.
The project is a crucial infrastructure development aimed at facilitating the speedy and efficient transport of goods from the new port to different parts of the country.
By linking the port to the "Samruddhi Expressway," the corridor will significantly reduce travel time and boost economic activity in the regions of Vidarbha, Marathwada, and North Maharashtra.
