MoRTH approves Rs 1,255.59 crore Northern Patiala Bypass in Punjab
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on 17 October, 2024 approved a project worth Rs 1,255.59 crore for the construction of a 28.9-km, four-lane access-controlled Northern Patiala Bypass in Punjab.
The project aims to significantly alleviate traffic congestion in Patiala, improve regional connectivity, and facilitate the efficient movement of goods and logistics, as stated by Road Transport and Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari.
This new bypass will complete the ring road around Patiala, reducing traffic congestion in the city. The four-lane access-controlled Northern Patiala Bypass spans 28.9 km.
