Oil India completes major pipeline upgrade, strengthens Northeast energy grid

Oil India Limited has completed the upgrade of its Numaligarh–Siliguri multi-product pipeline, increasing its capacity from 1.77 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 5.5 MTPA.
The upgraded pipeline will enable more efficient transport of refined petroleum products from the Numaligarh Refinery to the Siliguri terminal.
The company also signed a 15-year gas supply agreement with NEEPCO to provide 1.4 million standard cubic metres per day of natural gas to the Bokuloni power plant in Assam.
The twin developments are expected to enhance energy security and boost industrial growth across India’s northeast region.
