Prostarm to establish 1.2 GWh BESS manufacturing facility at Reliance MET
Prostarm Info Systems has announced its plans to set up its first-ever Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing facility at the Reliance MET City in Jhajjar, Haryana.
This strategic move marks a significant foray for Prostarm into the rapidly expanding energy storage sector, with the facility boasting an annual manufacturing capacity of 1.2 GWh.
The company has secured a 9-year lease (from May 2025 to April 2034) for a land parcel measuring 3,912.15 square meters, which includes a covered shed area of 34,000 square feet.
A total capital expenditure of Rs 25 crore is planned for this project, encompassing the setup of advanced plant and machinery, office infrastructure, HVAC systems, power capacity upgrades, anti-static flooring, warehousing, and other essential infrastructure for high-end assembly and integration.
The new BESS unit will cater to both Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Utility-scale applications, addressing the growing demand for energy storage solutions across various sectors in India.
The facility is expected to be commissioned by the end of the financial year 2026.
