Railway projects worth Rs. 90,000 crore underway in Odisha: Ashwini Vaishnaw
Railway projects worth approximately Rs. 90,000 crore are currently underway in Odisha, according to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, reflecting a massive push to upgrade rail infrastructure in the state.
The projects include new lines, capacity expansion, and modernisation initiatives aimed at improving both freight and passenger movement.
Such large-scale investments are expected to boost connectivity to mineral-rich regions, enhance logistics efficiency, and support industrial growth, particularly in sectors like mining and manufacturing.
Improved rail infrastructure will also reduce transportation costs for bulk commodities.
The investments are aligned with broader national efforts to modernise railway networks under PM Gati Shakti.
