REC arm floats tender for transmission system for pumped storage projects

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited has floated a tender for developing transmission infrastructure to evacuate 2 GW of pumped storage power.
The project will enable integration of large-scale energy storage capacity into the grid.
Pumped storage projects are increasingly being deployed to balance renewable energy variability.
The transmission system will connect generation sites with demand centres. Bidding will follow standard competitive processes.
