Reliance inks Rs.11,760 crore bio-energy MoU with Tamil Nadu

Reliance Industries signed an MoU at the TN Rising Conclave to invest Rs.11,760 crore in integrated bio-energy plants across Tamil Nadu, aimed at converting biomass into clean fuel and industrial feedstock.
The project aligns with the state’s broader push toward green industrialisation and is expected to generate large-scale rural employment.
Officials say the move could support fertiliser, chemical and materials industries that rely on bio-based inputs.
With Tamil Nadu aiming to lead in climate-aligned manufacturing, the project could also attract secondary industries and logistics partners over the next decade.
