Solarworld Energy Solutions has secured an EPC contract worth Rs. 806 crore from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd to build a large-scale battery energy storage system.

The project will help stabilise solar-rich grid regions by firming variable generation and improving load management across the state.

The order significantly strengthens Solarworld’s project pipeline and positions it as a competitive player in India’s fast-expanding storage market.

With the government pushing for 50+ GW of storage by 2030, such orders are expected to grow rapidly.

Industry observers say this win will also boost Solarworld’s visibility among state utilities seeking energy-storage partners.
