TNPGCL fast-tracks two thermal power projects
Tamil Nadu Power Generation Corporation Limited has accelerated work on two thermal power projects to ensure adequate electricity supply during the upcoming summer peak.
The decision follows early demand projections that indicate higher peak loads due to prolonged heat conditions and industrial recovery.
Officials said the projects will strengthen base-load capacity and reduce reliance on costly spot-market power purchases.
Faster execution is also expected to improve grid reliability and limit the risk of load shedding during peak months.
The state has prioritised thermal readiness alongside renewable integration to maintain supply stability.
