Websol to add 4 GW solar cell and 4 GW module capacity
Websol Energy System has unveiled a significant expansion plan involving a Rs 3,000 crore investment, aiming to add 4 GW of solar cell and 4 GW of module capacity in two phases by June 2028.
This expansion is part of a larger corporate strategy, which also includes a 1-for-10 stock split to make shares more accessible to a wider range of investors.
The company, which has seen its market capitalization soar, is financing the new capacity through a combination of bank loans, equity, and internal funds.
A new, wholly-owned subsidiary, "Websol Renewables," will be incorporated to oversee this next phase of growth.
The expansion, which will use high-efficiency TOPCon technology, is aimed at meeting India's surging demand for solar energy and positioning Websol as a major contributor to the country's clean energy targets.
