GAIL & RVUNL form joint venture to integrate gas-based power with renewable energy in Rajasthan
In a pioneering move to enhance grid stability and promote cleaner energy, GAIL (India) Limited and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) have formed a new joint venture.
The partnership aims to create a hybrid power generation model by integrating existing gas-based power assets with new renewable energy projects in Rajasthan.
The joint venture will initially take over RVUNL's two gas-based power plants at Dholpur (300 MW) and Ramgarh (270.5 MW), subject to due diligence. The new entity will also be responsible for developing 750 MW of solar power and 250 MW of wind energy capacity in the state.
This innovative model is designed to provide a more reliable and flexible power supply, balanci
