Hero MotoCorp Lays Foundation for Rs.750 Crore Global Parts Centre in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for Hero MotoCorp's ₹750 crore Global Parts Center (GPC 2.0) at Madanapalem in Satyavedu Mandal of Tirupati district on July 1. The new Global Parts Center is being established to manufacture and supply two-wheeler spare parts to Hero MotoCorp's manufacturing plants and dealership network, producing components for motorcycles, scooters and electric vehicles for both domestic and international markets.
The facility is expected to generate employment for nearly 4,000 people. Hero MotoCorp already operates a manufacturing facility near Sri City with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million vehicles, and the new GPC is intended to strengthen the company's supply chain and expand its manufacturing footprint in the state.
Hero MotoCorp's Executive Chairman said the company plans to invest ₹3,200 crore over the next five years to develop the Tirupati unit into a manufacturing hub for automobile and EV components, and to raise annual production capacity from 1.2 million to 1.5 million units. This latest facility forms part of that broader ₹3,200-crore investment roadmap in the state.
The state government had persuaded the company to set up its original manufacturing facility in the state, having laid the foundation stone for the Tirupati plant in 2018. The new GPC is positioned to reinforce Tirupati's role as a hub for automotive component manufacturing, logistics, and electric mobility production in Andhra Pradesh.
