Musashi India doubles Bengaluru plant area to boost transmission component output

Manufacturing Nov 18,2025

Musashi India, part of Japan’s Musashi Seimitsu Industries, has completed a Phase-2 expansion of its Bengaluru facility — adding about 11,000 sq. m — which will roughly double annual transmission-component production to 6.5 million sets once fully operational by December 2025.

The capacity enhancement targets both two-wheeler and four-wheeler customers and comes as OEMs increase localisation of driveline components to shorten supply chains and cut costs.

The expansion also reflects confidence in near-term vehicle demand recovery and the company’s strategy to capture higher shares from EV and ICE platforms alike.

Local sourcing, labour upskilling and takt-time improvements will be critical for meeting aggressive output targets.
