REC Power seeks bids for Rs 1,111 crore transmission upgrade for 3 GW RE integration in Karnataka
REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a subsidiary of REC Limited, has invited bids for a critical transmission system upgrade project in Karnataka valued at an estimated Rs 1,111 crore.
The project's primary objective is to facilitate the seamless evacuation and integration of 3 GW (3,000 MW) of new Renewable Energy (RE) capacity into the national grid.
The upgrade specifically targets enhancements in the regions of Davanagere (0.25 GW) and Bellary (2.75 GW), both key areas for green energy development.
The work encompasses design, engineering, supply, construction, testing, and commissioning of the required systems. This move is part of a wider national effort to improve renewable energy evacuation capacity and ensure grid stability across the country.
